The Two Door Cinema Club are a Northern Irish based trio who’s catchy, upbeat electro-indie sound is easily identifiable from the very first note. The band consists of Alex Trimble, Kevin Baird and Sam Halliday, whose lives have been turned upside down this past year, by the wide spread attention their music has received.

Their latest and most renowned single ‘Something Good Can Work,’ caught the attention of the French electronic record label Kitsuné, seeing the single feature on the latest Kitsune Maison compilation, which was released in June of this year (Kitsuné Maison 7). The single itself is a must have summer track, with the ability to get even the most electro-pop resenting people, to sing along to their hooky guitar riffs and cheery simplistic lyrics. However, the band is likely to be criticized for their frequent use of computer assisted rhythm sections within their songs, despite the fact that they make no secret of its use.
The band also featured at this year’s Glastonbury festivals, seeing them perform on three separate stages, one of which was the BBC Radio 1 Introducing stage. They played an impressive set to a moderate sized crowd, with their song ‘Undercover Martyn’ standing out as potential future hit.
For me, this is definitely a band to keep an eye on, as their sound continues to reawake the feelings I had for the Wombats when they first emerged, although ultimately only time will tell the success of this trio. Check them out:
