When Eelus told me he had been busy in the studio I was eagerly anticipating his latest work. A sneak peak and whispers circulating his closest network only fed my intrigue. High Hopes did not disappoint with Eelus’ trademark stark colour contrasts and emotive imagery. Eelus described the piece as a “slightly haunting image” based on many dreams he’s had. “It’s kind of a ‘glass half empty, half full’ image. To me, she’s about to float off the edge and rise amongst the birds, to others she’s about to take her life and step from the safety of the rooftop to her death”. As always his work prompts interrogation, intrigue, and a dark mystery with no answers but those determined by ones self. Purchasing details are available after the jump.
