One20 presents an Art slash Music Mash-Up

So when the boys at One20 sat down to create an event to break down a few walls the conclusion was a mash-up of street art gentle giants Prefab77, with, on the ones and twos, Scottish heavy hitter Craig Smith, mixed with local gems VERY VERY, and Shindigs Mark Lowy. The stage for this culture collision was Newcastle’s minimalist, derelict, post blitz, urban music venue; The CUT. The crumbling walls and stripped back décor provided the perfect canvas for the anti-establishment, tongue in cheek, and subversive internationally acclaimed artists. This was combined with some cleverly placed lighting and a not so inconspicuous Funktion-One sound system. The result being a new look to the North East venue and the scene was now set for an awe-inspiring night of music.

The event comes following a year of activity collaborating with North East Streetwear store and gallery; Electrik Sheep, and terrace drinking spot; Tokyo. Over the year we have worked with artists such as Jon Burgerman, typographers such as Seb Lester, and local gem; Amy Dover. As always along for the ride was Richard Kenworthy. Here are a few highlights.
