Our next top 10 photos feature comes from Emily-Jane Robinson who hit us up, saying she loved the feature and wanted to be a part of it, and i'm so glad she did! I'm a big fan of her work, and like the honestness and simpleness of some of it. All this is better coming from her however, so read on as she takes you through her top 10 photos. Check out her blog too, at emmyland.tumblr.com

1.I took this one morning in September at my apartment in Silverlake during Paul's first month long visit to see me early in our relationship in 2009. We were eating breakfast in our underwear on the couch and I felt like I wanted to make it last forever. I pulled out a spare chair and put the camera on self timer and there it was.

2. This photograph was taken of my friend Kate two days after my Mother died at a Halloween party my roommate and I threw at our Korea Town apartment in Los Angeles. This was her costume. She's originally from Lexington, Kentucky and I believe that she may have won some kind of beauty contest when she was 16 which is why the banner she is wearing says "Miss Sixteen of Lexington." But to be honest, I'm not completely sure of the back story about the banner so my guess is as good as yours. The black eye and bloody nose were simulated with stage makeup that she did herself. I was running around the party that night with a disposable Kodak camera, snapping "headshots" of everyone to document their costumes, but this one was by far my favourite. It's also probably my favourite photograph I have ever taken.

3. This was taken near Crater Lake, Oregon on a road trip / week long nature retreat I went on with my best friend Sonja. We were staying in a cabin in the forest and it was amazingly peaceful but also very difficult after coming from our busy lives in the city, so we decided to take a day driving around the surrounding area and exploring a little bit. In the evening, on our way back to our cabin we saw this fire from the road and we pulled over to take a photograph. We also peed on the side of the road, but that is another photo.

4. What can I say, it happens.

5. This is my friend Andrew at D'Angelo's birthday party at my first apartment in Westwood in LA in 2007. We painted every room in that apartment a different color. This was in the kitchen. The apartment was my first real home after I left my childhood home, and this photograph has become such a symbol of that place and that time.

6. When I lived in LA, we drove up to the mountains in Wrightwood one night to party at my friend Matthew's family's cabin. Everyone put their beers in the snow outside and I thought it was hilarious. That's my diet coke with the icicle in it.

7. This is my best friend D'Angelo eating the best pizza ever with my Dog Queen a few days before I moved from Los Angeles to London.

8. This is my friend Kaitlyn at a party in Mount Washington. She's got the most incredible hair that anyone has ever seen.

9. This is Jessica Dean Harrison in her bed in San Francisco. This photograph was taken on one of the first rolls of film that I put through the Leica Minilux that I found in my Mother's closet after she died. Jessica is one of the best people and personalities that I have found to photograph. She's not concerned or flustered by the camera coming out in any way and just continues her way of being as normal. All of the photographs that I took of her during that time ended up being some of my favourites.

10. This is my Grandad Mr. Jeffrey Rose at his home in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. This was on Boxing Day 2009 and it was the last Christmas that he spent in his house. He has dementia now and can't take care of himself anymore.
