Supra Releases the Skytop III

When Chad Muska and Supra released the original Skytop many years ago, he was almost laughed out of the scene. They were nothing if not a slow starter, yet grew into one of the most recognisable and popular skate shoes of their era. For the second instalment Chad chose to make them slimmer, and taller still. This left everyone wondering where he would go for the third model. Could they possibly make a taller shoe? Thinner? More outrageous? Neither. Chad once again has left everyone guessing and has pushed the envelope yet again.

When I met Chad the other week I asked him about this, and he told me that this model was a natural progression for the Skytop, and I’m inclined to agree, it makes perfect sense. Chad describes this as “part tech runner, and part basketball shoe, mixed in with the lines of the original Skytop”. The shoe boasts a removable EVA air pocket on the heel for protection, rubber sidewalls to reinforce skate sensitive areas, and the tread has been designed to give greater flexibility and increased board feel.

In short Supra and Chad Muska have done it again, it’s a phenomenal shoe. Check out some images on the expand and pick up a pair at your local Supra dealer.
