New on the scene and more than likely soon to be big in the game, new electronic music label Deadplate are looking to make swift, large moves with a roster of deep heads and deeper sounds. Deadplate’s debut release will be the juddering ‘Booty Call’, a piece of buoyant quasi-minimalism from Cardiff boyos Lung and Maxx Roach, which – whilst noticeably different from the sort of atmospheric, vapourous music most associated with the two producers- carries a striking sense of familiarity nonetheless.
This particularly tribal cut of 4/4 dubstep comes backed with the melodic ‘Crisbit’, plus a Booty Call remix from Randomer, who ups the mechanics and percussion with pleasing results. With the label also releasing music from artists including Artifact, Bluto, Hackman, Hodge, James Fox, Randomer and Synamatix, and support already coming from the likes of Blawan and xxxy, it seems that Deadplate will fast become another safehouse for innovative producers and inimitable dancefloor moments.
