Thursday night saw sneaker heads and fee drink seekers alike descend on Soho’s Foot Patrol to take in the launch of their collaborative shoe with Italian brand Fila. The shoe in question is a reworking on the classic ‘Trailbazer’, and while some of you may scoff at what seems to be Fila cashing in on the current influx of chino wankers wearing walking boots, the reality is actually quite far off the mark.
Fila you see, are over 100 years old, and their original location in the Italian mountains and the influence that that bestowed means that Fila, more-so than many, have boasting rights to some really developed outdoors wear.
Foot Patrol chose to re-introduce the classic Trailblazer model, while putting out a more limited ‘AM’ version, which sees it updated with premium leather, nubuck and a blown out rubber sole which closely emulates that of a Red Wing boot.
