While out in Berlin last week I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch of Vans OTW collection in Berlin, which compromised of a three day series of events in the pop up ‘House of Vans’. On Wednesday the series kicked off with an all out party featuring performances from Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def), Lupe Fiasco and the Patta Soundsystem.
Nearly a thousand people were afforded entry, with many more outside who couldn’t get in, with the lucky entrants treated to not only stellar live performances, but also a free exhibition by Vans OTW advocates Dimitri Coste, Eric Elms, and Chris Kong.
The building itself was truly awesome, a web of smaller rooms with installations led to one large concert hall with a stunning atrium. Drinks were flowing thanks to Parliment Vodka and Corona (Believe me, they were flowing), and the party didn’t stop until the early hours of the morning (again, believe me. Urgh).
