Almond Shoes: Belmont and Riveria

We’ve posted about Almond before, specifically this interview Scott did with Paul Robinson, and I’m proud to show you these two pairs of their latest footwear. First up is the Belmont, BMX team rider Ben Hucke’s signature model. With this we’re looking at a gum sole, vulcanised and with a suede upper, it looks bloody good.

If the skatepark isn’t your thing then you may be into their more casual offering – the Riviera. Designed to be a deck show that lasted, the pair I got sent were in this dope ‘Ox Red’ colour way. They’re much more understated then the Belmont’s yet they sit on the same sole, and sport a suede upper, with a black synth suede leather option available.

Almond is one of the first (as far as I can tell) brands that has it’s base in BMX and is branching out into the general lifestyle area. Obviously with skate shoe brands this is second nature, Etnies and the like have been worn by non-skaters for years. With that in mind it’s nice to see Almond come from BMX and make that push towards a wider audience. And why not? They’re certainly good enough!
