Following a massive weekend for Breaksof10 at Evolution in the UK its back to the grind. With the blue glow from my Mac, the smell of fresh coffee around HQ, and my ears still ringing from the festival I was definitely hungry for some more cultural content from the globe. My inbox did not disappoint with something we are definitely feeling for the Summer of 2009; The latest collaboration from WeSC (“We are the Superlative Conspiracy”).

I’ve been in contact with Taj for nearly two years. At the time I was on my gap year and travelling a lot, and I saw a post on a website inviting budding travel writings to be a part of a new project. That new project was wejetset, a modern travel store and online magazine based out of Philadelphia. I applied and I’m now a regular contributor, and I couldn’t’ be more stoked to be a part of wejetset. Taj is the second busiest person I know after Danny, and his constant positive view on the world inspires me. Somehow Taj balances being a dad and husband, running wejetset, and still has time to update his blog and cook the meanest burgers in Philly. I’m honored to know Taj, and I’m proud to announce the Taj Reid interview.

Ok kids lets start with some simple sums! What do you get if you take Dizzee Rascal, Ladyhawke, Friendly Fires, the View, and the Mystery Jets! Throw it together with the Maccabees, Kissy Sell Out, the Wombats and White Lies. Add two Main stages in amongst an Iconic Quayside backdrop, Sixty thousand people, and no work on Monday! The result is the one and only Evolution Weekender and the second leg of the UK festival season . With a line up that any iPod would be proud of, a weather report that shouts out for sunglasses, and no need for wellies the festival is on track for greatness. Breaksof10 will be there every step of the way from the first sound check until the last clap of applause. If your in the North East of England and by some act of God you can’t make it to Newcastle’s quayside this Bank Holiday Weekend then we will have more after the drop.
All Weekender tickets are SOLD OUT, however you can still buy day passes for £9.50 from the Evolution Festival Website.

Here at breaksof10 we are always on the look out for new brands and products making waves through the global cultural undercurrent. Vestal caught our attention following a collaboration with OBEY and the release of the GEARHEAD with stunning results. The brand is quietly confident avoiding typical above the line brand campaigns favouring a much more credible approach. The Vestal message is transferred via the large network of opinion leaders who effortlessly act as international representatives for the product. They wear Vestal because they love Vestal! Enough Said. Musicians, Artists, and Athletes from across the globe can be caught sporting the international brand – and its clear to see why!
With Music at the heart of the Vestal Identity breaksof10 proudly presents the new ZR3 with the “So Fresh and So Clean” salute. The product speaks for itself; clear cut lines, a classic feel, and all this combined with modern style. Its this mark of quality that sees Vestal sold in over forty countries across the World. I’ll be looking out for mine come July.

Ross is somebody I’ve known of for years, as a talented desinger and one of the key players in the DIY BMX company scene that boomed out of Leeds a few short years ago. I’ve personally never met Ross, but my good friend Rob Loeber however know’s him a lot better, and they ride BMX together in London. So rather than I do an introduction to somebody I’ve never met, I’ll let Rob do the talking.
“Who is Ross Teperek? A northern giant with a white rose for a passport, a heartbreaker under the name of “Dr. Feelbad” behind the decks, a flatland wizard, Google Earth’s biggest fan or an exceptional picture technician behind the artwork of bmx’s most aesthetically pleasing brands. If you ticked “All of the above” then you’re correct. We caught up with the “Dr.” to get an insight into some of his past projects and found out what else he’s been up to, down in London”.

What do Jesse Owens, Muhammad Ali, Run DMC, Estelle and David Beckham all have in common. Simple; Adidas!
This Summer Adidas deservedly celebrate “60 years of Soles and Stripes” kicking it all off with a “House Party” at Milan fashion week. However how much of the vision has been lost in those sixty years. Would Adi Dassaler be proud of what “Adidas” has become. Back in the day in Herzogenaurach not far from Nerumberg Germany Adi was dedicated to his craft and the creation of the greatest sports shoes the world had ever seen. Little did he know that sixty years later you need only walk to the end of your street to see eighteen pairs of adidas sneakers! Something that was massively sports specific managed to cement itself in Hip Hop history and the world was watching.

As the sun sets on day one of Radio 1′s Big Weekend in Swindon the country is bouncing to the sound of Bonkers. Dizzee Rascal is definitely talk of the town and to be honest we have been talking too! Tom and I managed to catch Dizzee Rascal when he was supporting Prodigy on their UK tour. The outcome was epic. Not only did we have an amazing night we also witnessed that Dizzee Rascal is here and he is here to stay.

The Prefab 77 boys recently got the chance to go to Brighton to do a massive wall on the side of a shop. They chose to do the ‘Enemy of promise’ piece, and it looks epic. They had a lot of last minute set backs, like flu, the unavailability of a decent camera and the original plan of using a cherry picker had to be abandoned. I caught up with Marc to find out more, so hit the link to see some more photos, the interview and a dope timelapse.

When we hear a great record over the airwaves we often pay little attention to the journey behind it! Often prior to that hit record is a story of struggle, challenges, and triumph. In an increasingly difficult industry it’s a breath of fresh air when genuine talent lands on your doorstep. In 2009 Black Steel Rose crashed through my doorstep in a JCB! I was definitely listening. After catching up with manager Cara Santiago I knew it was going to be a great year for the band. I know its clichéd to say a band deserves to reach great heights. So I won’t. Take a snap shot into the journey, listen to the track, listen to more, and make up your own mind…
