I remember this… the feeling I felt when I first witnessed the That’s It That’s All teaser online. Quicksilver and Red Bull set out to make the greatest HD snowboard film the world had ever seen. I honestly believe they achieved this and therefore it was only a matter of time before another film represented the next step. They came from… simply is. With Scandinavia providing the focus of the movie some truly breathtaking original locations are provided in crystal clear RED, HD and for the first time 3D. All this accompanied by some of the worlds finest snowboarders and an epic soundtrack secures this movie amongst the greats.
Everyone should see this movie and I think the guys at factor films shared my enthusiasm. Therefore this movie will be released as a free download and with certain snowboard publication all over the globe this fall. This is solely due to the support of Sweet Protection, Atikin and DnB NOR. Keep your eyes peeled for this…
These guys definitely caught my eye as they proclaim they have done it their way, their style, wherever they want, and on their terms. MFM and F.O.D.T join forces as Hard to Earn depicts the everyday highs and lows of a snow season. With some fresh cinematography and riders such MFM, Lucas Magoon, Travis Kennedy, and Dylan Thompson to name but a few this will undoubtedly turn some heads. If you’re in Cali, you got to attend this world premier. Info after the jump…
If you have a gap in your diary around the 14th September then a few days in Paris could definitely satisfy some serious streetart cravings. Close Breaksof10 friend C215 will be holding an exhibition at the Espace Cardin building (near the Champs-Elysees). Take it from me seeing C215 and his work at ad hoc in New York last year makes this a definite must! This is one not to be missed. Curated by Studio 55 this will be Christians first solo show in Paris, check out the full details and address after the jump…
SMD dropped their second studio album ‘tempory pleasure’ last week and it’s nothing short of awesome, but then it should be. SMD are bona fide dancefloor killers, and toured their first album ‘attack, decay, sustain, release’ relentlessly for about 2 years. I was lucky enough to catch them about 4 times, in various parts of the country. Most people don’t know that one half of SMD is James Ford, who was the knob-twiddler behind Mystery Jets, Klaxons, and Arctic Monkey’s second album, ‘Favourite worst nightmare’, and he plays drums for last shadow puppets. Yet he still found time to lend his production skills to the new Arctics album and Florence and the machines album ‘Lungs’.
In short, James and Jas are a talented pair, and I have no doubt they will continue to push the envelope, plus smash wherever they play. ‘Tempory Pleasure’ is testamont to that, sure it’s a little more mainstream, and boasts guests like Beth Ditto and Alexis from Hot Chip, but it’s amazing non the same. Cop it at the usual outlets.
Danny is currently at Red Bull X Fighters and will be tweeting photos from it all weekend! If you don’t know what X Fighters is then check it out here, and you can follow Danny on twitter here. I was meant to go and can’t now, and I am SO jealous. Have fun Danny!
Any Forty is a UK streetwear brand hailing originally from the NE40 area of Gateshead in the North East (Get it?) and now reside in Bristol UK. They’ve got some fresh new clothes so check them out at http://www.anyforty.com/. My personal favorite is the shirt they did with Gavin Strange, a.k.a ‘Jam Factory‘ and you can cop them here.
Plus if you email the nice Alan Wardle he’ll be kind enough to send you an iPhone wallpaper!
Sinden has been making waves on the electronic music scene for a minute now, not just with Herve as the Count & Sinden, but in his own right. I first saw him play in Newcastle at the ill-fated ‘Bad Robot’ night last year, and caught him again at Evolution festival this summer. He killed both times, and after meeting him at Evolution it also tranpired he’s a super nice guy too. I stole a couple of minutes of his time inbtween playing some shows in NYC and LA this weekend just gone for a little interview on the new Count & Sinden album, and what’s next for Sinden. Check it out.
Like Nike SB’s video ‘Debacle’ wasn’t enough, they go and drop this, a properly filmed advert for the new Paul Rodriguez III shoe, and it even has cameos from Ice Cube and Kobe Bryant! Skateboard video cameos from NBA players and rappers? Even for Nike that’s nuts. Plus it’s the best bit of skateboard filming and production since Lakai’s fully flared. Enjoy.
This post is to celebrate the coming together of two creative titans in a collaboration resulting in nothing short of genius. On one hand Deadgood have always managed to wow me as they buck the IKEA-lets all own the same stuff- trend in favor of some truly stunning original furniture and design. On the other hand I first stumbled across Jon Burgerman’s doodle mastery upon what seemed like discarded pieces of cardboard in a certain north east gallery. The rest is history and I have been hooked on both heavyweights since. Needless to say this collaboration excited me from the word go. Therefore I present for your aesthetic pleasure Deadgood vs. Burgerman.
