Remember in October I posted a load of portraits on my film SLR camera? Well It’s pretty much all I’ve been shooting since on that camera, including shooting my first roll of black and white film (I can’t thank Billy enough for developing them for me). So check them out!
Breaksof10 catches up with the newly crowned We Love… Space’s “fresh blood” as he reflects on his travels of late, the trials and tribulations of being his own boss, and his admiration for the chill out formula. Dan is what I call a “true creative”, exuding passion for this art form, and relentlessly conveying unfaltering dedication towards the perfection of his craft. He’s a busy guy managing TRIPTIK whilst bouncing between his house productions and his ulterior alias JADER. However he still found time for a chat and two mixtapes.
To celebrate Electric Press’s first birthday, and Finnish brand CTRL’s latest awesome line of clothes we decided to shoot it and showcase it all for you guys. CTRL have been churning out some fine threads for a while now, but get little to no exposure in the UK. So, for many of you, you’ll have seen it here first, and be sure to check out Electric Press to grab some of the items!
Carlos from Quintin got in touch to say they had a special new hat on offer. Here’s what he had to say:
“We have teamed up with Frank The Butcher (http://butchersblocktv.com/) for a very limited snap back. The cap features the Haitian motto “L’Union Fait La Force” (In Unity, there is strength) embroidered on the front two panels in the Haitian flag color way. All the proceeds of this cap will be donated to the relief fund for the people of Haiti. For more details head over to http://butchersblocktv.com/. This cap is limited to 24 pieces and will only be available at the auction event this upcoming Sunday.”
Shindig have become pretty renowned for throwing some epic parties for the best part of twenty years now. Born out of Newcastle’s thirsty music scene they have successfully combined high profile international bookings with an arsenal of regional talent. Over the last ten years Shindig numerously shared stage with a one Joey Negro – This Saturday he returns. In the words of Neil Bainbridge “for someone who has been in the industry so long and moved his way through genres so successfully yet sticking to his roots we can’t wait to hear him play”. I’m proud to say that Joey took five to catch up with Breaksof10 in the lead up to the event this week.
I just knocked up this mixtape of tunes them I’m liking right now, and dominating my DJ sets at Zoo. It features tracks and remixes by my friends Decibel, Jo Kira and Sheffield duo Run hide survive, plus as yet unreleased tracks from Foamo and Ali Love. The tracklisting and download link is after the jump.
If music doesn’t feature in your day-to-day life you can simply change the channel… I think some reality TV show is on anyhow. However, for you that walk, talk, live, and breathe music you’re going to want to hear this. Behind every great sound, fad, trend, genre and musician is the producer. Those people who mould, create, and inspire to take music further than previously conceived. For the last decade Red Bull Music Academy has arranged the introduction bringing the pioneers to the table with the world freshest musical talent. This musical Armada is London bound.
Couldn’t be easier to give some real help to those in Haiti. Simply by clicking the link you can donate via iTunes. 100% of the donation will go to the American Red Cross and help make a real difference.
I genuinely can’t remember how I discovered Caesar’s photography, but I’ve been a huge fan of it for a while now, following his flickr and blog avidly. He has this fantastic way of capturing the energy of big electro shows and at the same time produces incredible portraits full of calm and trepidation with his film cameras. Through chance I added him on facebook and got talking and luckily he agreed to answer a few questions and share with us some of his favourite photos!
Matt Roe is still one of my favourite riders to watch ride, effortless style and flow, and this is one of the first videos in a while thats made me want to go to Leeds and retrieve my BMX and ride again. Fantastic edit from Charlie Jobling once again.
