Cool Cats and Lacoste L!ve is nothing but the perfect collaboration. In case you weren’t aware, Cool Cats is a young Parisian label run and founded by Ed Banger record label head honcho and international DJ extraordinaire Busy P, artist and DJ So-Me and Michael Dupouy – the mastermind behind the street almanac ‘All Gone’ and founder of the communication agency ‘La MJC’.

Lacoste L!ve is Lacoste’s younger and edgier sub label, and is without doubt some of the best stuff they’ve put out in years, very much reaffirming their place at the top of the fashion tree.

This collection is typical of So-Me’s graphical style, playful with large bold colours and a cheeky demeanor – and I love how he’s got the Cool Cats logo devouring a Lacoste crocodile. Or is it sucking it like a lollipop? I really can’t tell. They’ve also out in some fun details like leopard print lining, and a strong consistent colour palate throughout.

As well as the polo’s shirts, t-shirts and varsity jackets, the capsule collection also features a pair of denim pumps with red detail, and travel holdall with the same colour scheme.

I’m a big fan of fashion, really I am, but before fashion comes love or in other words football. Issue 3 of The Green Soccer Journal has just launched, the goalkeeper issue. Remember when Nike invited me down to design my own pair of Toki Premiums in their iD studio in London? Well, before Christmas they arrived and I shot a few photos to give a closer look. I’ll talk you through them.

I could only have three letters on the back, so I forgave ‘Tom’ in light of putting the Breaks of 10 stamp on them.

So, it’s 2012 now, and, in the wake of last years onslaught, we’re presumably a bit over chopped up R’n'B samples, right? Well, yeah, whilst on paper I’m inclined to agree that if I hear another pitched-up, slowed-down, gated or warped sample of 90′s R’n'B I’m liable to take a broken bottle of Moet to my own neck, there’s no reason to write it all off entirely. In this instance the temporary reprieve comes from Ghost Mutt, whose Sweat Mode EP on Brighton’s Donky Pitch seems to offer good enough reason to return to 2012′s reworked champagne room just the once more.

It’s a smoother affair than the chipmunk-Cassie’s and cough-syrup-Aaliyah’s that gradually swamped the tail end of last year though, as on Sweat Mode, Ghost Mutt is working towards a more seedy, soulful corner of the sampling spectrum. It’s the unabashed groove in the EP’s title track that indicates a departure from the R’n'B sampling norm, and it’s thankfully a more unusual ethic that continues through the whole EP, through the cooing slow jam of ‘Figure You Out’ and onto the evocative twinkles that drive the slow-motion vocals of ‘Dreams Of’. It’s only a matter of time before we plunder the last of our natural resources and we end up listening to chopped and screwed versions of R Kelly’s ‘Trapped In The Closet’, but until then you’re safe in the knowledge that with dynamic, enthusiastic work outs like this there’s still a little good left in what has rapidly become an unstoppably replicating electronic music trend.

Teaming up with Warehouse and Co, the Japanese vintage clothing specialists, Clarks Originals produces this desert boot. Though the boot features the original crepe sole seen on traditional Clarks Originals desert boots, Warehouse & Co have hit this shoe with vintage loom indigo denim and leather piping for added detail, that works surprisingly well. We’ve seen a shed load of collabs’ from Clarks Originals over the past few months, with some being pretty outrageous, and although this effort from Warehouse & Co isn’t top of my pile, it’s pretty strong for the coming months.

Ronnie had a fantastic 2010 but amidst all the Asics and Sebago hype was this gem, a collaboration with Quintin and luxury wool brand Pendleton. For the project Ronnie grabbed some of his favourite wools from Pendleton and set about applying them to Quintin’s signature alternative 6-panel silhouette.

There are six different hats in the collection, three versions which feature Pendleton on the crown and underbill (Navy, Black, Grey), and 3 with Pendleton on the top of the brim (Red, Charcoal, Navy). All hats were cut from different sections of wool, which means every hat has it’s own unique pattern.

In the UK each hat is is limited to just five of each colour way, and due to the nature of the Pendleton wool, no two hats are the same. As with the pattern, no two colourways are available in the same store, with three of the UK’s finest retailers exclusively stocking the collection.

The collab will be released at 10am on Friday 6th January at the following locations:

The SS12 A.P.C. drops are beginning to finally trickle through onto our favourite online independents, and as an A.P.C.-aphile (not an exaggeration for the purpose of this post I assure you – I have posters) this can only mean three things; difficult decisions, bank balance issues, & I probably need to get out more.

Continually consistent with its simplistic pared down philosophy and non-trend led design, the Parisian brand have delivered on both basics and more technical pieces for the coming spring. Not averse to owning a few menswear garments myself, several have drawn my focus. Handy in the cross-seasonal period and mild winter we’re having, the selection of lightweight outerwear has come at an ideal time. The vintage parka in particular, with drawstring waist and hood, roomy flap pockets and a hooked collar fastening to keep the new year breeze out pretty much covers all bases. Good news for me there is a similar womenswear version too.

As pointed out by Touitou himself not too long ago, this so called simplicity is difficult to pin down and not so easy to find elsewhere in other brands. I’ve looked.
